About

Hotel Hahn

Hotel Hahn occupies a traditional building on Landsberger Strasse, about 2.7 km from Königsplatz. The Theresienwiese – home to Oktoberfest – is a 5–10 minute walk away, and the nearest U-Bahn station is roughly 5 minutes on foot. The hotel's location puts you close to supermarkets, restaurants, and bars, while the city centre is about a 30-minute walk.

Inside, you'll find a traditional bar with Bavarian character, a coffee shop, and a breakfast buffet that guests regularly single out for praise – particularly the freshly cooked eggs and bacon. Rooms are simple but soundproofed, and the hotel offers free Wi-Fi, parking, and luggage storage. The 3-star rating reflects straightforward comfort; the service, however, frequently earns higher marks.

What works, what to weigh

Strengths

3 reasons to book
  • Breakfast that guests rave about — The breakfast buffet, with freshly cooked eggs and bacon, is repeatedly mentioned as a highlight. It's a memorable start to the day.
  • Unbeatable location for Oktoberfest and transport — A 5–10 minute walk to the Theresienwiese and a 5-minute walk to the U-Bahn, with trams right outside. Supermarkets and eateries are nearby.
  • Friendly, helpful staff — Guests consistently mention the warm welcome and assistance from reception. Service is a strong point even when other aspects are average.

Worth weighing

3 to weigh
  • Rooms show their age — Guests rate rooms and cleanliness at 6/10, noting firm mattresses and modest insulation. The soundproofing is not five-star, so you may hear hallway noise.
  • Busy street outside — Landsberger Strasse is a main road, so expect traffic noise. The surrounding area is described as plain, though the buildings opposite are pleasant.
  • Limited check-in window — Check-in runs from 14:00 to 21:30, which may be tight if your arrival is late. Check-out is from 06:00 to 12:00.

“We return to this hotel every time we're in Munich. It's ideal for longer stays. The staff are the best, and the location can't be beaten – close to the city centre, with supermarkets, restaurants, bars, and public transport all nearby. You can also relax at Astalla, which is just around the corner.”

“All about location. It's a 5–10 minute walk to the Theresienwiese and Oktoberfest, and a 5-minute walk to the U-Bahn. Plenty of shops and restaurants nearby.”

“Booking.com gave us a great rate for Oktoberfest when everywhere else was sold out. We chose a traditional-looking hotel for some Bavarian atmosphere. The walking distance to Oktoberfest, the train station, and the city centre (30 minutes) was perfect. The buildings across the street are pleasant, though the surroundings are fairly plain. The street out front is busy, but that's expected in a city. There were a few loud drunk guests in the hallway at night, and I could hear breakfast dishes clinking in the morning from my first-floor room – the soundproofing isn't five-star, but you pay for what you get. Service was excellent, the bar was beautifully traditional, and you could get a light snack like cheese/ham bread and butter or toast. Breakfast was also very good. I'd book here again without hesitation.”
